To everyone using the Tessellate theme, I’m really sorry for any problems you might’ve had yesterday morning! tumblr rolled out their new anti-phishing script which, as you could tell, did not behave well with this theme!

If you still want to use Tessellate and you haven’t updated any time since yesterday, here is the install for the latest version: http://www.tumblr.com/theme/30524. People at tumblr were very nice in expediting the approval process (probably because so many of you sent them emails).

I recommend you reinstall if you:

• have installed version 2.0 and have edited the code in some manner. Editing the code means you did not receive the fix yesterday! If you like to customize the theme via edit html, try and track the “tessellate” tag to stay up to date.
• are one of the 109 to have installed the freetexthost quick fix I gave out yesterday morning. You will not receive future updates fixing any more problems that may arise from tumblr’s new script, one particular problem being the extra white space at the bottom of certain posts.

Finally I’d like to thank everyone using this theme for being very patient with me!

tl;dr: sorry! always use the theme garden version, track “tessellate” if you like to customize the html, and thank you for your support!

- Large rewrite! If I gave you custom CSS it may not work anymore!

• Code is a lot DRYer and a bit smaller!

- Things that would appear on hover should now always show on Apple iProducts and Android products
- Options are now in alphabetical order

• I’m hoping it will resolve issues with using “Reset Defaults” and the old customize

- “Show border around posts” has been split into 3 options! You may need to go to Customize and change your appearance settings!

• I thought it wasn’t fairly intuitive to have it also control the borders around the meta and content on permalink pages

- “Use time ago on index page” has been renamed to “Contextual time on index page”
- “Use time ago on permalink page” has been removed :(

• I think for the permalink page it is better to have a definite time and not the approximation that contextual time gives you

- Added “European time” option

• Most people who visit my tumblr are Americans so I figure most people who use my theme are too, and it seemed a bit weird to be forced into a different time format

- Added “Show description over links”, “Show header slashes”, and “Transparent post background” options

• “Show header slashes” is on by default but some people don’t like the slashes so they can uncheck it now to hide them

- Fixed a bug where tag and search pages that returned only text posts would not infinitely scroll
- Fixed a bug where photos would be 0 height when loading from cache
- Pages will now load in proper order instead of in the order of whichever page’s images finish loading first
- You can now jump pages and continue to infinitely scroll
- The first page should load a bit faster
- Images inside blockquotes should resize properly now
- Photo posts are centered now
- Now uses CSS transitions where possible to animate on supported browsers for faster performance and for animations when javascript is disabled
- Played with margins and padding a bit so some things are better aligned and so ordered lists aren’t cut off
- Added “Older” and “Newer” text next to pagination arrows so navigating is a bit easier
